The Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) at the Faculty of Law, Stellenbosch University, in collaboration with Youth Employment Services (YES), invites applications for 12-month internship opportunities starting 10 April 2026. The monthly salary is R8 192.

youth@WORK is a leading implementation partner for the Youth Employment Service (YES) 12-month programme, which is focused on providing quality work experience for unemployed South African youth.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Law, Public Policy, Social Sciences, PR/Marketing, Monitoring & Evaluation, Statistics, or Journalism.
  • Passion for Social Justice and community transformation.
  • Skills: Research & writing, communication, project management, cultural competence, computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Commitment: 12 months full-time.
  • Eligibility: South African citizens, ages 18-34, BEE candidates, not previously part of the YES programme.

Professor Thulisile “Thuli” Madonsela, an advocate of the High Court of South Africa, heads the Centre for Social Justice and is a law professor at the University of Stellenbosch, where she conducts and coordinates social justice research and teaches constitutional and administrative law.
